Listing with IndieAuthors.com
IndieAuthors.com is designed to allow authors to sell their work directly to readers. Our purpose is to connect authors to readers. All submissions of work, published or unpublished, are subject to a pre-approval process. Once your work has been approved, you will be invited to complete the submission process and create your listing.
Creating Your Listing
During the first phase of IndieAuthors.com (right now), all listings are free. When the site is fully launched, the cost of each listing will be $10 US. Each listing will remain in effect for 3 years. Your listing will include a picture, synopsis, excerpt, reviewer quotes (if available), and depending how you have chosen to make your work available, a link to purchase it. While creating your listing you will be able to select the layout style, font, and accent font colours.
Sell Your Work
There are two ways you can sell your work to readers at indieauthors.com, depending upon the state of availability of your work.
If your work is available for purchase at an online store (amazon.com, bn.com, or other) then you can provide a link to the page where it can be purchased. You will receive royalties from that sale from your publishing company (as always) and we will receive a nominal associates fee from whichever site stocks your book. Indieauthors.com is an associate of Amazon.com, but we are more than happy to register as an associate with any other online book retailer you would like to use. Just tell us where your book is available and supply the link, and we will do the rest. This method is designed for those who have a Traditional Publisher (small or large) or those who have their work in POD format, or ebook, etc…
If your work is out of print or unpublished and you own the full rights to it, it may be made available on our site to be read online. Readers viewing your listing will be able to read an excerpt of your work (or the size you have determined), and then pay to read the full document online. In this case, 50% of the fee is paid to you, and 50% to Indie Authors. This method is designed for works not currently in print, or smaller works, short-stories, essays and lectures.
Control
At IndieAuthors.com, you control how much your work will cost. We have three different price points which can apply to all types of work: $3.00, $6.00, $9.00. Set your price!
Final Product
Once your listing is complete, any visitor to the site can find or purchase it. In addition to the first pre-screening process, all work will be reviewed by our staff and the best will be featured or reviewed in constantly updated content. Guest reviews are welcomed and additional content will be provided to attract the greatest number of new visitors to the site. Remember, you are also a reader!
